With this safe & fun concept, already thousands of holiday makers and residents have experienced the green and rural Serra de Monchique by bicycle.

The trip starts at the office in Mexilhoeira Grande. From here you are brought by a mini-van to the highest peak in the Algarve, the Foia on 902 metres, in the middle of the Serra de Monchique. Enjoy here the stunning views to the west & south coast. The restaurant on top of this mountain is always open and can serve you a lovely coffee. After a good explanation you will cycle back to the coast…easy going downhill!

The experienced multilingual guide stops at magnificent panoramic views and tells you about wildlife & nature. A support vehicle follows the group of maximum 16 pax.

The aluminium ‘all terrain' bikes are custom made and have safe hydraulic brakes from Magura, comfortable gel seats and front suspension. The handle bar is higher than on a normal bike, so you will enjoy a safe and comfortable sit position. We provide you with a helmet and a water bottle.

The trips are suitable for everyone between 15-65 yrs with some cycling experience.

NATURE TRIP - the NATURAL way to enjoy the Portuguese country side

60 % of this trip is downhill on quiet and good roads and leads you through beautiful scenery with little hillside villages. After a good explanation you will cycle back to the coast…easy going downhill! Cycling downhill on the back roads of the Serra de Monchique, you will descend the Fóia on good roads. Then we head towards the small, charming mountain village of Casais, where a picnic is waiting for you. A stroll through the village is a must. In the village are public rest rooms.

After a long and easy going descend with spectacular views we head further south. The remaining part you will be cross country cycling through beautiful valleys with quiet gravel roads. Cycling close to little farms, the local shepherd will always raise his hand to you. We end the trip with a paddle or swim in the warm estuary lagoon of the Ria de Alvôr, or you can spot flamingos and spoonbills in the winter.

The total is about 38 km/25 miles, net cycling time approximately 3hr45mins.

SUMMER TRIP - the LAZY way to enjoy the beautiful & green Serra de Monchique

In the summer months you will enjoy our laziest bike trip, leading you downhill through eucalyptus and cork tree forests. 98 % of this trip is downhill, let the gravity work for you!

Cycling downhill on the back roads of the Serra de Monchique, you will descend the Fóia on good roads. After a short break in a small tavern in a typical mountain village, you'll continue on good roads through a well scenting eucalyptus forest. These quiet and easy going roads lead you through one of the most rural parts in the Algarve interior.

Riding our well equipped ATB´s down the rolling hills of the Monchique Mountains is a must for your Algarve visit during this summer; the best way to enjoy the Portuguese countryside.
