A full day of outdoor fun!
Downhill on the mountain bike, a well deserved lunch,
and a lazy canoe trip on the river to Alvor. The best
way to see the entire beautiful Algarve interior.
This full day starts with a
downhill cycling trip.
60 % of this trip is downhill on
quiet and good roads and leads you through beautiful
scenery with little hillside villages. After a good
explanation you will cycle back to the coast…easy going
downhill ! While you descend the Fóia on goods roads,
you will be cycling downhill on the back roads of the
Serra de Monchique. Than we head towards
the little, charming mountain village of Casais,
where a little break is planned.
After
this break we head further south with a long
descend with spectacular views.
The rest is cross country biking through beautiful valleys with
quiet gravel roads. Cycling close to little farms we end
the cycle trip in the village of Mexilhoeira Grande
where a well deserved warm lunch is waiting for you.
After lunch you will step in a
Canadian canoe
and peddle on the Ria de Alvor in one hour to
the charming
fishing village of Alvor. From
here we will drive you
back to our shop. The
Ria de Alvor is meandering through
a quiet
landscape where local fishermen find their
shell
fish and you might spot a spoonbill,
some comrons and
sometimes storks.
Start and finish of the trip is at our shop at the EN
125 near Mexilhoeira Grande. This is easy to find
between Portimão and Lagos. From the shop we bring you
up the mountain, from where we cycle back down to the
coast. Total 35 km/23 miles, net cycling
time approximately 3hr00mins.
For this combination programme we need a minimum of 6
participants. Contact us for availability and any
questions.
